Practical Tools and Techniques
August 17, 2024
9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Pacific Time via Zoom
Certain key factors impact our grieving. We will be discussing how to take these into consideration when working with clients impacted by loss. Anticipatory grief and disenfranchised grieving experiences complicate this process.
This workshop is designed for therapists seeking to deepen their understanding and skills in supporting clients through grief. Moving beyond traditional models, this session emphasizes practical strategies, narrative approaches, and the effective use of resources for psychoeducation, engagement, and empowerment. Participants will engage in hands-on exercises, discussions, and reflective practices to enhance their therapeutic toolkit for working with individuals experiencing various forms of loss.
By the end of this workshop, participants will have a deeper understanding of the complexities of grief and a more robust set of skills for supporting their clients. This workshop aims to foster a compassionate, informed, and practical approach to grief therapy that honors the unique experiences of each individual while equipping therapists with tools for effective psychoeducation, engagement, and empowerment.
Workshop Goals:
-
Expand Understanding of Grief: Enhance participants' knowledge of contemporary grief theories and practices beyond the traditional stages of grief model.
